History
Our passion is developing highly engineered bows and putting them into the hands of the archer. Within Backwoods Composites there is a combined 40 plus years of engineering and manufacturing in the aerospace industry, as well as generations of avid archers in the Guiffrida family. Our experience in the aerospace industry combined with many years of shooting traditional archery enables us to deliver to our customers cutting edge products. Our headquarter in Wrightwood California, is the hub of our research, development and fabrication. All our products are made in the USA with pride.
SAM GUIFFRIDA

Sam loves engineering. He is always trying to come up with something new. He graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, one of the top engineering schools in the nation. After graduation he worked at a aerospace company for 15 years specializing in aerospace structures, in which he developed the love for composites. He brings his knowledge of aerospace structures to Backwoods Composites to develop highly engineered products.
DANNY GUIFFRIDA

Danny Guiffrida was a Aerospace Machinist specializing in prototype work before he retired in 2013. When his son Sam started Backwoods Composites a few years after his retirement, Danny was excited to bring his many years of manufacturing experience and love of archery to the company. Archery has always been a love of Danny's since his father Phil taught him how to shoot as a young boy. Phil himself was a tournament archer winning many competitions in the state of New York. Danny continues to pass down that tradition of the love of archery and bow hunting to his sons, grandsons and granddaughter. His knowledge in manufacturing, belief in top quality products, and passion for archery is a great addition to Backwoods Composites.
