HIT-19 ILF Riser

HIT-19 ILF Riser

The engineers at Backwoods Composites have done it again, a great advancement in Traditional Archery. Our HIT-19 riser utilizes High Inertia Technology. With the use of physics and engineering principles we have designed a riser with a significant amount of mass moment of inertia giving the archer more stability during the shot cycle. We did this by removing a significant amount of mass out of the center section and adding it to the extreme ends of the riser. Seems easy right? No, this was only achieved by using Shear Center Technology. SCT is technology utilizing Solid Mechanics of geometric shapes to find the location of zero torsion of a C-Channel cross section. We designed the window structure around SCT, giving us the ability to greatly reduce the material needed in the window to react torsion in riser. We also increased the distance from the grip to the stabilizer holes by two inches. This increases the amount of mass moment of inertia when weights are added to riser.

The riser has a radiused shelf for shooting direction off the shelf. We also designed in a slot for the ability to vertically move a side plate or plunger in a location that is in-line with the arrow center axis.

The moderate deflex and limb pocket angles were designed around our MOAC limb geometry to achieve a well balance of speed, tiller stability and full cycle shot control.
